We are very pleased to announce that Dan Adams has joined the Maponics management team as our Chief Operating Officer.
Dan has 17 years of experience in the geospatial data creation industry. He comes to Maponics from a long career at TomTom, where he served in a number of high-level positions, most recently as Vice President of Geospatial Sales. He also held executive positions at GDT and Tele Atlas North America. Dan brings extensive knowledge of the GIS industry to Maponics, including navigation and GIS database management and services, operational management, business and product development, supplier management and negotiations in all forms.
The position of COO is new for Maponics. CEO Darrin Clement explains, “Given the maturity of the company and the fact that our product offerings are getting more diverse and deeper, it’s a natural evolution for us to strengthen our management team at this time.” The company has grown considerably in recent months, adding two new executive positions and expanding its overall workforce by 25%.
Dan is a New Hampshire native who earned his BA from the University of New Hampshire and participated in the Tuck Executive Program at Dartmouth College. Interestingly, long before high-tech came to this region, Dan’s grandfather had a job on the railroad and ate his lunch about a hundred yards from Dan’s Maponics office. As for his current job, Dan says, “I think my grandfather would have found it pretty cool.”
